Prevent Stolen Elections

If you’re a regular visitor to this web site, you’re used to seeing a recurring button saying “get involved”.
<——- Woah! There it is again!
Anyway, various posters and commenters have urged us to actively support a candidate or candidates, by contributing our time and money to their campaigns. That’s excellent advice and I support it wholeheartedly. If that doesn’t suit you, there are other ways to get involved in the election process. [Not counting voting...that is a given!]
Among many avenues of political involvement you might choose, I’d ask you to seriously consider working on Election Day as a poll manager in one of the many dozens of precinct polling locations in the Tri County area.
Why a poll manager?
The “progressives” —-I still like to call them liberals just because it irritates them—– by many reports seem to have their shorts in a knot over the a sea change happening in the American political landscape. The American people have overwhelmingly rejected their agenda and policies, and liberals know that they’ll have to resort to their “usual game” when Election Day arrives in order to preserve their power over all of us.
Their “usual game” is this: Nothing’s out of bounds to liberals when it comes to winning an election! Officially, on the record, they will deny this vigorously. But in their hearts, the desired end —-in this case winning —- justifies any means.
These “any means” include fraud and cheating on Election Day—-paying for votes, getting people to vote more than once, getting ineligible people to vote (illegal immigrants, non-residents), getting someone to impersonate a legitimate voter, resurrecting the dead to vote, campaigning too close to a polling place, and so on.
And, of course, there are occasional incidents of voter intimidation. There are many archived news accounts of things like this having happened in past elections all across the country, and such shenanigans are particularly likely to be rolled out in an area where pre election polling results indicate a very close race.
How many elections in the past few years have turned on a very few votes? Al Franken, anyone?
Election “irregularities don’t always happen because voters are smart enough to game the system all by themselves. Successful acts of voter fraud or intimidation usually require some help. Unfortunately, this help sometimes comes from poll clerks and managers that are inattentive or lazy. Or that are “good old boys” that don’t want to rock the boat so they look the other way when something looks suspicious. Worst of all is a poll worker that would violate his oath and act in collusion with a voter to commit a fraudulent act. Don’t get me wrong. I think the overwhelming majority of poll workers are honest and dedicated, but some of them may be easily duped.
One way to prevent fraud, cheating and intimidation is first, to have poll managers with integrity and character serving at every precinct poll location. This also means leaving one’s politics at home for the day. People are needed that will take this job seriously and make sure that everything is done “by the book” —- and there is definitely a book. Just one poll manager with integrity, who is alert to what is going on, performs her duties by book, and respectfully challenges a situation when something looks wrong, can make a difference in insuring a legitimate election process in his or her assigned precinct polling place.
I served as a poll manager in Charleston County in the primary and runoff elections this past June. It’s not grueling work but it does require some training and study, and Election Day itself is a long one (about 13-14 hours) for the poll workers. Fortunately, in my own experience everything went smoothly. I can attest that serving is personally fulfilling because you have served your country and your community by having helped to preserve our democratic process. And the gratitude expressed by so many of the voters is always nice to hear. I will be serving again on November 2. By the way, I forgot to mention, you get paid for it.

IMPORTANT UPDATED INFORMATION

Our friends at will be sending off all patriots in style. They have graciously arranged to be at both departure locations/times to send us off in style. Thank you WSC for your southern hospitality!!
In preparation for the Restoring Honor Rally in DC, we wanted to give you some information to make the trip run more smoothly for everyone. The main change is the dropoff location (in blue) once in D.C.
- All passengers will need to sign a Waiver and Release of Liability before boarding buses in Charleston. They will be provided in advance via email and will be also be available for download from our website. We will have extras at the departure site, but we can move more quickly if you bring the completed waiver with you or fax it to us ahead of time.
- If you are riding an “Extended Stay Bus”, you will depart Charleston at 7:00 am on Friday, August 27th from the parking lot of the Walmart at 4920 Centre Pointe Dr, North Charleston, SC 29418, near Tanger Outlet. Please arrive at the departure point by 6:00 am to ensure we are on the road by 7:00 am.
The bus will make some rest stops along the way and there will be one meal stop on the way to DC and one on the way back to Charleston. You may want to bring a small cooler with snacks and beverages. There are no power sources on the bus to charge phones and PDAs so please plan accordingly.
- If you are riding a “Day Bus”, you will depart Charleston at 9:00 pm on Friday, August 27th from the parking lot of the Walmart at 4920 Centre Pointe Dr, North Charleston, SC 29418, near Tanger Outlet. Please arrive at the departure point by 8:00 pm to ensure we are on the road by 9:00 pm. There will be 4 buses loading (approximately 200 passengers) so it will take some time. The bus will make some rest stops along the way, but NO meal stops. One of the buses will stop in Santee and Florence to pick up passengers .
You may want to bring a small cooler with snacks and beverages. You will be allowed to leave personal items on the bus while you are attending the rally. When you arrive in DC at approximately 7:00 am, the driver will point out the departure site before dropping you off at a nearby McDonalds. It is a short walk from there to the Lincoln Memorial. The Day Buses will depart DC at approximately 6:00 pm on August 28th from Constitution Avenue and 17th Street. There are no power sources on the bus to charge phones and PDAs so please plan accordingly.
Because the Capitol Police are in charge of the street closures, the dropoff and pickup areas may change, therefore, listen for updates and keep your cell phones handy.
- For the rally, we suggest you carry the following:
1) Water 2) Sunscreen 3) Government issued ID – you will need this to gain access to a Federal building and they typically have good restrooms 4) Umbrella to keep the sun away
- While Glenn Beck has said that political signs aren’t his focus for the rally, we know people may choose to have them anyway. US Capitol Police have strict guidelines which we have taken from their website:
Signs, Banners and Placards: Signs, banners, and placards are permitted as a part of a permitted activity. All supports for these items must not exceed three quarters (¾) of an inch at their largest point, have dull ends, and made entirely of wood. There can be no nails, screws, or bolt-type fastening devices protruding from the wooden supports. These items may not be used to offer any item for sale, to solicit contributions or contain any form of advertising. Any display of signs, banners, placards, and related items is strictly prohibited inside all Capitol Buildings. We look forward to sharing this historic event with you! Charleston Tea Party
UPDATE: Mr & Mrs Bates are helping coordinate and manage the buses so may be contacting you to obtain your cell number. This will allow us to contact folks during the stay in D.C. as most will not have access to website updates. Thanks for your cooperation. We seek to serve you and do not anticipate any problems, but would prefer to be prepared just in case there would be a reason to contact the patriots.

Mount Pleasant to Legislate Common Sense – please attend MP Town Council Meeting on Tues July 13th at 7pm
July 12, 2010 by MissLiberty
On Tuesday July 6th at 10:45, the Police Judicial Legal committee has the texting ban on their agenda AGAIN, for the third time. The issue at hand is larger that just this law and goes to the very heart of good & responsible limited government. We need liberty minded people to stand up for our inalienable-individual rights and personal responsibility.
There is no evidence that there is ANY kind of problem in Mt Pleasant with texting motorists causing any accidents. The Chief of Police said so himself during the last meeting the ban was on the agenda. Additionally, the study that I presented both at that meeting and which can be found here, clearly illustrates that there is zero improvement in safety from these texting laws, when comparing states with a hand-held device ban and states without.
Bottom line, the town of Mount Pleasant wants to waste time, resources, and taxpayer money on a law even though there is zero evidence to support there being any kind of safety epidemic resulting from texting motorists. Ms. Thomasena Stokes-Marshall said to all at the meeting that she doesn’t care if there is any evidence or statistics to support the law but that it FEELS like the right thing to do. With that kind of law-making temperament, there are no limits on the role of government and this kind of reasoning is exactly what is wrong with government today.
Furthermore, the methods by which the committee seeks to enforce this ban may be the most disturbing of all. The town wants to authorize the police to SEIZE your cell phone and SUBPOENA your phone records if the police believes you were using your phone. You can find the discussion on the PLJ minutes for March 1, 2010 toward the end of the document here.
As a town, we must stand for private property rights and this enforcement mechanism would be the ultimate violation of private property rights. Rule of law and private property are vital tenets that make the US unique in the world and throughout Human History. Without holding these rights sacred we are no better than the worst of totalitarian regimes that usurp property at their own arbitrary wishes.
Lastly, reckless driving is already covered under existing law so no new law is even needed. If someone is swerving or breaks a traffic signal, the police already has the authority to cite the motorist. In addition, texting laws are near impossible for the police to enforce. The police chief for Mount Pleasant expressed this sentiment during the last meeting. For all the reasons listed above, this law must not pass.
I ask for your support in this cause for freedom. Thank you so much for listening to the concerns of the citizens of Mount Pleasant.

USA TODAY POLL
only takes a minute to vote on this issue now.
USA Today Poll on Gun ownership
Obama’s Attorney General, Eric Holder, has already said this is one of his major issues. He does not believe the 2ndAmendment gives individuals the right to bear arms.
This takes 2 clicks to complete. Please vote on this gun issue with USA Today, then pass the link on to all the pro gun folks you know. Hopefully, these results will be published later this month. This upcoming year will become critical for gun owners with the Supreme Court’s accepting the District of Columbia case against the right for individuals to bear arms.
Here’s what you need to do:
First – vote on this one.
Second – launch it to other folks and have THEM vote – then we will see if the results get published.
The Question is:
“Does the Second Amendment give individuals the right to bear arms?”
Click on the link below and PLEASE vote “Yes!”
NRA Mulls Endorsing Harry Reid over Sharron Angle in NV Senate Contest!!
July 10, 2010 by mikeinmountp
Shocking! Please check out these articles: here, here and here.
The NRA justifies considering endorsement of Harry Reid because they assume Reid will win against Sharron Angle in NV, thus Reid will return as Senate majority leader. Endorsing Reid because NRA thinks he is “less bad” than Chuck Schumer (D-NY) or Dick Durbin (D-IL) is a sell out, just like NRA sold us out on the “Disclose” bill.
Note that Schumer is running for re-election this year and could lose — not at all likely, but could—–and Durbin is set until 2012, when we hope he and his pal, Obama, will be shown the door.
The NRA may think Harry Reid is a friend of gun owners and the Second Amendment, but his record shows he is no friend of conservatives on freedom, personal and fiscal responsibility and limited government!
If you are as disgusted and incredulous as I am with the prospect of a Reid endorsement by NRA, PLEASE call the NRA at (800) 392-VOTE (8683) to tell them what you think! Let’s jam the NRA’s phone lines like they’ve never been jammed before!
