It now looks like the best hope for conservatives is a brokered convention. Otherwise Romney will be our candidate and we will once again go down in defeat thanks to the establishment republicans anxious to hold onto power. These RINOs have found they can go along to get along and losing the White House is not a major problem for them. That’s why running a string of losers like Dole, McCain and Romney does not deter them. Too bad they don’t love their country as much as they love their power.
Now I know many of you support Romney and I have to wonder why. All the things we hate about the Obama policies, have already been supported by the Mass liberal. Can you imagine how badly Romney will lose the debates to Obama? I mean, what is he going to criticize? Government run healthcare? Gay marriage? Government paid abortions? Forcing churches to pay for contraception and the morning after pill? Raising taxes? Expansion of the “safety net”? Opposed Bush’s tax cuts? Supports a cap and trade tax? All of these things show there is no difference between Romney and Obama just like George Soros says.
At Cpac, Ann Coulter said that you would have to be crazy to think that Romney would not lead from the right. This despite the fact that his record shows just the opposite. Ann used to be a conservative. I now know how Obi-Won Kenobe felt when Aniston Skywalker crossed over to the dark side. Isn’t believing that a candidate with a long liberal history would lead from the center is what got us Obama?
But if Newt can sweep the southern states and Rick knock off some of the northern states, we can reach a brokered convention. That’s going to make picking the right delegates to the convention so important. We need delegates who are willing to stand up for conservatism. We need delegates who if they can not unite under Rick or Newt, are willing to reach out to a Mitch Daniels or some other reliably conservative candidate to take on Obama. It’s not enough to elect a candidate with an (R) after his name. We need a candidate willing to reverse the policies of Obama. If not, we are looking at 4 more years of liberal rule, no matter who wins. America can’t afford it.
