Although most of you realize the monetary cost of cap and trade legislation, I am sure you do not see the bigger implications. Lisa Jackson of the EPA has declared that CO2 is a dangerous gas and therefore can be regulated.
And that if you emit too much, you must purchase carbon credits. (By the way, do any of you know who thought up the idea of buying and selling carbon credits and lobbied congress to pass it? Enron.)
But suppose an Occupier gets up in your face. And suppose you breath on them. They could have you arrested for attempted murder, since CO2 is now officially a dangerous gas. Reckless endangerment at the very least.
On the other hand, there are some positives. Me and a group of my buddies are holding our breath for a total of 20 minutes a day. Once we get enough saved up, we are going to contract with Goldman Sachs (Enron’s intended partner) to sell our carbon credits so we can buy season tickets to the Charleston River Dogs.
