In a follow-up to Tony in Texas’s recent post here, readers are invited to check out this excellent National Review piece by Michael Novak, who captures the essence and true motivation behind the Poseur-in-Chief’s requiring religious institutions to provide and pay for contraception and abortifacient drugs. Novak offers four ”hidden premises” as the basis for Obama’s deception, and further posits that:

…..the president is smuggling the hidden premises of NARAL, Planned Parenthood, and other supporters of abortion into U.S. law, and doing so untruthfully.

 And as my good friend Dr. G points out in recent correspondence to me, “What’s not discussed is the nature of people who’d make this move so blatantly.  Arrogance? Hubris? Ignorance? Stupidity?  Just plain Totalitarianism?”

The final passage of Novak’s article sums up this “situation” quite well…

The new Caesars [Sebelius and Obama], the totalitarians of our own liberal society, are those who sin against tolerance by laying down their own naked will as the law for others, by deception, and executed through hidden premises. This deception is properly labeled, not as a “contraception mandate,” but as “the grossest violation of the separation of church and state by any administration in American history.”
