You can watch him actually make the point that a border fence is nonsense and would only lead to the sale of more ladders! He made the absolutely false claim that we have the technology to implement a guest worker program and determine the true identities of those who would participate, claiming that we need to bring people together and not drive a wedge between people! This continues the myth (lie) that the enforcement of the immigration laws are about race.
In point of fact, the immigration laws have absolutely nothing to do with race, religion or ethnicity and only distinguish citizens from non-citizens (aliens)!

Have any of our friends in Myrtle Beach or Columbia asked him about these positions?
So is this a Tea party or establishment hit piece or what….. so who is the Charleston Tea party endorsing anyway… I have not decided yet and will not let articles published make my decisions,,, just sayin
enforcing the current laws we have is a thousand times better than what’s being done now, “virtually nothing” Texas and Arizona knows what works and what does not when it comes to border security. What is unfortunate is that a fence will increase the sale of extension ladders and tunneling equipment, made in China and or Mexico. The Guest worker program needs to be reformed and Bio identification implemented. Unions kill more jobs in this country than guest workers do, hence our reliance on “Mexicans” Cheap labor! Guest workers should have health coverage provided by the country or guest program that allows the individual to work here in the States.
True or false, does it really matter? Let’s be realistic. Right now, it looks like it will be a toss-up between Perry and Romney. Assuming that Perry is nominated, would you vote for nobama because of whatever Perry’s policy is (or is not) on immigration? I’m all for vetting the candidates, but at some point, you have to be practical.
We have to keep our eyes on the ball, in this case: WHO IS ELECTABLE? WHO CAN BEAT OBAMA? Sorry to rain on the parade, but right now it ain’t Bachman and it ain’t Paul. Throw all the vitriol you want at Perry or Romney, and it won’t change a thing. If Palin comes in, then we’ll have to re-think things. She’s very polarizing, and I’m not sure we can afford to go with a candidate with so much baggage, even if most of it is imaginary. The MSM has already prejudiced an awful lot of people against Sarah.
Seems to me that we’d all be better off if we can figure out how to win with what we got and not keep tearing the most viable candidates down.
Just one old pensioner’s opinion –
I believe we must find the most qualified candidate. We have a lot of time to do that. This is just the beginning.
I do not want another election where it is the best of two evils.
I desire a true conservative ..TEA party believing individual. Someone with morals. Someone with drive.
Someone who realizes we are the BOSS.
You have those in Michele Bachmann. Don ‘t push her away just because the blame stream media makes stupid remarks about her. How much do you men know about knitting? How much do women know about football? How much does Michele Bachmann know about singers? Probably as much as I do. Why? Because she has more important things to think about. So what if she did not know the difference between Elvis’s birthday or his death. Neither do I!!!!!!!!!!
Ask her questions that make her think! ON IMPORTANT SUBJECTS! Do the same with the other candidates.
But when you find out important info on a candidate…I said..IMPORTANT…then tell us all! Then let us make up our own minds!
Lee…thanks for commenting……
FYI, authors can submit articles and opinion pieces as long as they adhere to the web site’s terms of service and site rules. The Charleston Tea Party has not endorsed any of the candidates.
Since Rick Perry is the subject of this post, readers might be interested in looking at this Townhall article.
Ditto everything Tiger66 just said
I have studied Perry…I will not vote for him. The left did not have to get into this at all Right Dog. Perry’s record will keep him from being President.

Here is what illegal immigration does…think about if those were your children
http://bit.ly/qRog5r
I have friends on a national patriot site who are Texans. They clued me in on some aspects of the man.
I have family that lives there too.
So, let me understand. You’d vote for Obama over Perry, Perry’s warts and all?
Lee, Please understand the Michael Cutler has 30 years experience as an INS agent. He knows immigration inside and out! When you read his words…he is telling it like it is!
This is not some “news source”. He is the REAL DEAL! He has been asked to speak before Congress many times!
Believe me..he has let ME know when I was wrong about immigratio, and other subjects.
He has also enlightened me.
I trust his judgement.
Tiger…no I will never vote for Obama. But I did not vote for McCain either.
We can do better!
We do not need to vote for the lesser of two evils. …like many did last time.
WE the People can actually use our brains and find a candidate that meets all or most of our requirements.
Or are you one of those people who lets everyone else do the work for you?
Did you read the info on the sites I posted? If you did .you must be a speed reader.
Here is a speech that Rick Perry performed.
http://governor.state.tx.us/news/speech/10688/
Read where he was/is interested in a bi-national health care system with Mexico!
You have GOT to be kidding! Who do you think would pay for this? Do you really think the people of Mexico would? Or would it be on OUR backs? Do you want your medical records shared with the medical people in Mexico?
Why should WE support the entire country of Mexico? Are they not a sovereign nation? (shades of North American Union!!!)
We are already giving them aid. And then the BILLIONS of tax dollars that are supporting the illegals here! Even if they were made citizens…these people are already “HOOKED” on our entitlements. We would continue to support them. And…Obama would get their votes.
Look what happened with the millions of dollars we gave to Mexico to build a state police!
Those same police officers are now ZETAS!
He is holding the border HOSTAGE to get his votes! Typical Chicago Mob politics!
Rick the “flip flop” Perry as some call him….all he said about open borders..state tuition for illegal aliens etc…and NOW that he is running for President…listen to this……
He also backed TARP!..Sorry I don’t have the documents..but here is video with the documents in them.
Do you want someone who claims he will do this and that for you…and then does just the opposite when he gets in office.
Oops! We already have someone like that in office!
We get that you don’t like Perry and you’re entitled to your opinion. I haven’t made up my mind about any candidate and have much more work to do on that front. I must say though it’s rather disingenuous to paint Perry as an Obama clone. And, for the record I will support the Republican nominee because 4 more years of Obama is not an option.
I think that the GOP primaries for 2012 will – unfortunately – be about the lessor of two evils. Until a candidate comes forth with true vision and leadership, we will be stuck with what we have.
All of the candidates have pluses and minuses. As the primary season comes closer, those pluses and minuses will become more visible. Like wit hall decisions we all make, each of us will have to weigh the pros and cos.
Ask yourself this question: Given the GOP field we have today, would you vote for nobama over any of the candidates currently running? I sure hope not.
Miss Liberty,
I suggest IMHO that you do more research on Perry, Romney and the like.
We have time. This is not a rush..like the bills Obama tries to push through.
And yes..I wish a couple of other men would enter the race by the names of DeMint and West.
Both IMHO, fantastic leaders! And then there is Ambassador Bolton.
But for now…it is Bachmann for me. That could change..who knows. But I do know who I do not want for President.
I just do not want another person who says one thing and does the opposite when he/she gets in office. Therefore, I need to check out the candidates moral convictions and what they have said and done in the past.
I do not believe it has to be the lesser of two evils if we do our homework! And let the Republican Party officials know where we stand on the Candidates.
Very interesting article on Richard Perry here:
http://www.businessinsider.com/rick-perry-is-a-lot-closer-to-the-2012-gop-presidential-nomination-than-you-think-2011-8?op=1
The story leads with the following: “The Republican ‘establishment,’ such as it is, is quickly coming to the realization that the 2012 GOP presidential nomination is Texas Governor Rick Perry’s to lose.
Right or wrong, good or bad, the article lays out the importance of the candidates’ performance in the five debates scheduled for after Labor Day. The first will be on September 7th.
Stay tuned.
Tiger, he will be in Myrtle Beach on the 5th with Tim Scott. Did you get the info?
I didn’t know about it. Is there a website?
Tiger,
I received an email from Tim.
You can go here to get the info: http://timstownhalls.com/
The Problem we have now is a “MAN CHILD” in the people’s house that has to go!!! Grind your ax all you want, but I’m still sending my $100. to Rickm
IMHO..you elect Rick Perry…be ready for Sharia Law. If you elect Rick Perry..be ready for the DREAM ACT.
I will not ..unless forced to do so…elect a man who is in favor of these two.
I want to elect a person who is in LOVE with the USA and the Constitution! I do not want to see the Constitution completely changed.
Enough said.
The odds of the Moon crashing into the Earth are greater!!!
Christopher…I don’t understand your last statement.
