When running for president, Obama made the claim that he would be a post partisan president. Like most of his other promises, this one was broken early and often.
What he has actually become is the post constitutional president. Early in his presidency, he tried to hijack the census and use ACORN to hire the counters. It was a power grab so egregious, that Sen Byrd (D) WV , accredited with being a scholar of the constitution, wrote a letter, protesting Obama’s actions. He called it a power grab.
Libya is a classic failure to follow the constitution. The constitution says that congress has the ability to raise an army and declare war. The War Powers Act of 1973 says that the president must notify congress before starting a military operation unless an emergency, like a direct attack on the US does not allow the time. This was outside that criteria.
You have the newest assault, by trying to force the Catholic Church to pay for contraceptives, which is against their doctrine. This is a direct attack on religion. We already know what Obama thinks of Christians “who cling to their guns and religion” His disdain obviously comes from spending over 20 years listening to Rev Wright.
And of course we all remember the recess appointments that weren’t. First of all, Obama lied…………..er…………made the claim that congress was out of session. Oh really? Seems to me the house passed their bill to extend the payroll tax cut for 2 months. Secondly, Obama never nominated the two union lawyers to the NLRB. This was a trade off with the unions for turning down the Keystone Pipeline and costing a lot of union jobs.
Here in SC, we know what kind of corrupt institution the NLRB has become under Obama.
Now Obama is livid about the artist who depicted him trampling on the constitution. I understand he plans to sue for definition of character.
