There’s a reason that so many Americans are losing their love of country. It’s a simple equation – you love only that in which you invest positive and loving energy. The left has successfully sold the illusion that the love you feel is based in the love you get. That’s bartering and dependency – not love. Love is a choice involving voluntary contribution – not forced participation. As America becomes increasingly characterized by a government of force, our love of country is being murdered. The American Dream is founded in partnership, investment, and contribution, not dependency, entitlement, and consumption. Making people pawns to big government assures anger, resentment, and detachment, traits increasingly evident wherever liberalism thrives. Feeling neutral or negative about your native land? Start putting something positive back in and you’ll get reacquainted with that warm furry red, white, and blue love.

Dr. Carl, in a few well chosen phrases I think you’ve captured the essence of the beliefs held by the people enamored with and/or participating in the OWS movement. They’re all spoiled brats that love only themselves, yet won’t invest their own resources in self improvement (that would justify stronger love) with hard work, accomplishment and ultimate self fulfillment. As long as the rest of us invest our resources, they’re happy —– for a while.
Obama said “we are the people we’ve been waiting for”. Well, knock yourselves out and keep waiting. The rest of us that love our country are moving on…..

As you suggest, “What’s in it for me?” has become the guiding phrase for liberal progressives and make believe conservatives resting in the ditch on either side of the road to reason. Our country is suffering accordingly. Fortunately, there are honest conservatives who continue to press through the storm. (;
Dr. Carl,This is my first visit to the candid conservative,I LOVE IT! I think that obama’s presidency,although it bad for our country,is the best thing that could have happened to awaken the conservative majority in our country.This was obvious by the failure of the OWS”movement” no matter how hard the media tried to prop them up.God Bless You and keep up the good work!
