Being a part of making a television programme is a lot more than being an actor. There are numerous people involved in creating your favourite TV show, and many different skills are needed to bring the TV show from the script to the screen. Here are a few of the people that will be a part of any television show…
Camera Operator – This is a self-explanatory role really! These people will sometimes work from a special script which tells them which shots they need to capture, how to capture the shot and what angle to take it from. It takes a while to learn all of this so most camera operators learn on the job and start as an assistant before working their way up.
Producer – This is the person who organises everything – and there is a lot to organise! For instance, they may need to find the right places to film certain scenes, or make sure that they find someone like Outdoor medical solutions to provide event medical cover for the duration of the shoot.
Editor – This person has the job of turning all of the filmed material into what you see on the television. They work on the film after it has been captured and uses both the filmed footage and the audio to create the television programme. This involves a lot of time and patience as there is often a great deal of material to go through and edit.
